DAFY - 3Gen
DAFY is a military survival knife - designed for both chopping and finer work. I have been making it for over 7 years. From the beginning of 2022, I am coming with the third generation of this knife - DAFS 3Gen- the base still remains ELMAX stainless steel powder with DLC coating on the blade. The grips are made of G-10 composite with Obsidian grinding.
News within 3 generations:
-
softly ballots sandblastingfor unifying the surface before DLC coating
-
improved Kydex sheath with rivets on both sides, paddle secured with 4 screws
-
choice of several types of attachment of the case (in the basic version with a nylon strap)
-
lightening of the handle (the knife goes more "into the cut")
-
DLC coated screws on the handle
Furthermore, I present to you two more variants of the knife, which arose from customer requests:
-
DAFY-C(Compact) - smaller variant for everyday EDC carrying, without choil
-
DAFS XL- large variant designed for chopping and extreme situations
DAFY was originally produced for soldiers of the 4th rapid deployment brigade, now I produce it for other members of the Czech Army, Czech Republic and other armed forces, as well as for the civilian sector. The knife has been tested in Afghanistan and the military premises of the Czech Republic, I have equipped hundreds of satisfied customers with it.
ELMAX
ELMAX SuperClean is a third generation stainless steel powder produced by Böhler-Udddeholm. It is characterized by a very fine grain, toughness and ability to hold an edge. After clouding in a professional tempering room, it reaches a hardness of 61 HRc
DLC
It is a plasma PVD coating, DLC stands for "Diamond-Like Carbon", i.e. as hard as a diamond. The resulting carbon layer provides low friction and high surface hardness, which is practically "unscratchable" during normal use _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_
G-10
It is a composite material connected by glass fibers. It is characterized by very high strength and chemical and shape stability. It's light, waterproof and fits perfectly in the hand thanks to Obsidian sanding. I produce DAFY knives in several color versions.
Obsidian
The honing technique I use on the handles (and sometimes the blades) of knives. I named it after finds of prehistoric knives made of split obsidian.
Kydex holster
Kydex is a thermoplastic material used to make sheaths for guns and knives. It is strong and holds its shape after hot forming.
The "paddle" on which the attachment to the belt is located (Nylon strap / TekLok) is attached with 4 screws and can be modified in height for higher (concealed) carrying. Production of kydex sheaths for knives is provided by DAFY www.ongear.cz
In the case of an order, I take a deposit of approx. 4,500 CZK (175 EUR) and an additional payment after the production / delivery of the knife. When sending to Slovakia, please add 15 EUR postage.
